Ch'Empire is a game inspired by the dynamisme of Shiro games : Northgard and Dune, but the player embodies a character He has to discover the truth about the mushroom civilisation by managing a village by conqueering / exploring / exploiting / building.

Context

Ch'Empire is a project made at school as the End year project. This tooks place in 2021 for a period of 3 weeks.

The game genre was free and the game should be between a III to an AAA game.

My tasks in this project

  1. Work on the Game Design Document.

  2. Design 3C.

  3. Programme AI minions worker and ennemy.

  4. Do the Personna of the project.

Tasks details

Task n°1 : Make the Game Design document.

I documented all main information about the game in global.

For that, I used Powerpoint, it makes the document more pleastante to read and more into the project theme. I also varied documentation layout according to section to recognize each section more easily.



 

Task n°2 : Design 3C.



I designed the 3C and programed them partially.

After documented the 3C, I programmed the a part of the character action, the controls and the camera. It can be played with a keyboard and with a gamepad as well.

For the controls, I have become familized with Unreal's Enhanced Input Action.


 

Task 3 : Program AI minions worker and enemy.


I have programed two AI in the project : worker and enemy.

To do so, I have used Oriented Object programmation for the worker (he can do divers task) and one for enemy (in case we add other enemy).

The worker :

It is assign to a building. It finds the associeted resource of the building, goes to reach it, gathers the resource and then goes back to the building. It cycles through this cycle until it receives an order from the player such as changing role or follow him.

The enemy :

When spawned, it patrols near its spawn in an random scheme until it finds the player character or a minion to attack. It is set to prioritaze military minions and the player character. If he lose track of its target it goes back to its patrol.





 

Task n°4 : Do the persona.




I made research about the typical player that we target. crossing different information and analyse concurent games to create the persona of our game that suit the ambition of the project and help to redifine the core gameplay to fit with it.
